Gear Head Run at 4-H Park
4-H Junior Leaders will be selling pizzas at the annual Gearhead Run, Saturday, at the Wells County 4-H Park in Bluffton. Registration is 8 a.m. to noon; awards will be handed out at 4 p.m.
Megan Thompson is going to stack pizza boxes. The Jr. Leaders folded pizza boxes for a pre-order make and take pizza sale for Saturday's car show.
Kayla Taylor is folding a pizza box. The Jr. Leaders folded around a hundred boxes on Thursday.

Mini 4-H at LCES
Wells County Purdue Extension Agent Roger Sherer visited Lancaster Central Elementary School on Wednesday to talk about the Mini 4-H program with first- and second graders. Each of the students received information they will bring home to their parents about the program. Sherer will visit all first and second-grade students in the county.

4-H SHOT GUN SAFETY CLUB SIGN UP

The Wells County 4-H Shot Gun Safety Club will hold its first meeting Saturday,
April 17, 2 ñ 4 PM at the Wells County Gun Club, 2555 E., 400 N., Ossian.
Youth may become members when they enter third grade and may continue their membership through the completion of grade 12. A member may continue membership for a maximum of ten (10) years.
One of the requirements in the 4-H Shot Gun Safety Club is the ability to physically handle a shot gun. The club will be using 12 and 20 gauge shot guns. The leaders with parents will determine if the youth can safely handle the weight and size of the gun.
The 4-H club has several shot guns for participants to use. Club members that wish to use their own shot guns will be required to have their shot guns safety checked by a licensed gunsmith and return a signed safety certificate to the 4-H Leaders before they will be allowed to use them. Safety certificates will be available at sign up.
Cost of the program is $35 which includes equipment, supplies, insurance, awards and refreshments at the Awards Event. Some partial scholarships are available. Check with leaders or the Extension Office..
The program is taught by 4-H certified instructors. Safety is the main focus of the program.

Youth will have an opportunity to learn about archery and the important safety skills through the Wells County 4-H Archery Club.
Sign up night will be held Monday, April 19th, 6:30 ñ 8:30 at the 4-H Park Quonset Building (upstairs) at the 4-H Park in Bluffton.
On April 27, 6:30 ñ 8:30 PM the beginners will meet to learn the safety procedures, range rules and basic archery skills.
Advanced members will meet on April 28, 6:30 ñ 8:30 PM and continue through June.
All meetings will be held at the 4-H Park Quonset Building (upstairs) at the 4-H Park in Bluffton.
Shooting range rules, safety skills and archery technique will be explained.
Regular meetings will begin on May 4 and continue each Tuesday.
