N-B Video: A robot tours the fairgrounds

The Huntington County 4-H Robotics Team demonstrates its robot at the Wells County 4-H Fair Wednesday. The team, part of the nationwide organization FIRST, came to help spark interest in creating a similar initiative in Wells County. The team built the robot for the FIRST competitions, which are held at the beginning of the year. This year, they had to design a robot to shoot basketballs and balance on a ramp. Miss Wells County 2012 Pageant

More than a dozen young women competed in the Miss Wells County 2012 Pageant Monday night at the 4-H Fairgrounds. The first portion of the event was an introductory dance, performed by the contestants and Miss Wells County 2011. For more information, see the Tuesday, July 17, News-Banner. The 13 contestants for this year's Miss Wells County Pageant participated in a non-judged outfit exhibition that allowed the young women to express their personalities. Outfit choices ranged from a ballet leotard to a basketball uniform.



This year's Miss Wells County was named at the pageant Monday evening at the 4-H Fairgrounds.



Annessa Reiff was crowned Miss Wells County 2012.

Sid King stopped by the 4-H Fairgrounds early Monday evening to put the finishing touches on his piece of chain saw art. King carved the eagle Sunday afternoon during a public demonstration.

If you're brave, try out these recipes that won the homemade ice cream contest Sunday afternoon at the Wells County 4-H Fair.

The banana cream pie recipe took first in the flavored category, with the roasted butter pecan recipe earning second. Below is also the winning vanilla recipe.

The Fair is coming
