**UPDATE**
Fair officials will auction this eagle, which was carved with a chain saw by Sid King of rural Bluffton, Thursday during the 4-H Livestock Auction. The auction begins at 3:30 p.m. The eagle will sell with the 4-H Foundation items later in the evening, probably around 7 or after. Proceeds will go to the Wells County 4-H Foundation for scholarships and a new junior leader's food booth. Trudy and Joe Dickason donated the cedar wood for the carving. The eagle is dedicated in the memory of Mack Buckland, who was a friend of King's and a 4-H supporter. (Photo provided)
The chainsaw carving demonstration Sunday at the Wells County 4-H Fair drew a large crowd. I personally had no idea what he was making until it was nearly finished. Here's the process presented in several bite-sized morsels.
