RODEO SET UP UNDERWAY AT 4-H PARK
Broken Horn Rodeo Company from Ripley, Ohio and 4-H volunteers have been busy setting up gates and livestock corrals for the Championship Rodeo scheduled for Saturday, September 4th. The Rodeo will begin at 7:30 PM and Country Music singer Dwayne Spaw will perform at 7 PM. Spaw's high energy performance will prepare the fans for an exciting rodeo.
A total of 103 participants have paid their entry fees with some performing in multiple events. A drawing is held in some events to limit participation to 15 during the actual rodeo. Immediately after the official rodeo, the remaining participants not selected in the draw are allowed to participate for points and prize money.
A special performance of the Wells County 4-H Color Guard is slated along with Melissa Nolan singing the National Anthem. Melissa, a Norwell High School senior and a 4-H member, recently won the State Fair Youth Talent Contest.
Seating at this year's rodeo has been improved. Portable bleachers will be located on the east side of the rodeo arena along with the permanent concrete bleachers which are on the west side. People are encouraged to bring a blanket or seat pad to sit upon. Lawn chairs will not be allowed this year in the concrete bleachers. The improved seating is hoped to provide better viewing of the entire rodeo.
Handicapped parking will be available close to the entry gate at the rodeo.
Stick Horse races will again be held for youth ages 5 and under and 6 ñ 9.
4-H volunteers will be serving food during the event starting at 5 PM when the gates open for people to select their favorite seat.
Proceeds from the Rodeo will go to 4-H Park improvements.
